What is Downloading?

Downloading is the act of receiving data from a remote computer, to your own PC.

The data can come in any shape or form. An Email, a File, a Sound, a Video Clip, or a Program.

Some LiSP Account plans have a limit of data that you can download each month. This figure includes all information that is delivered down your modem onto your computer. You can use the Member Services page under the heading: Your Account Information & Online Time to find out how much you have downloaded each month

In general, Files, Games, Video and Sound are the largest forms of data.
IRC Chat, Email, and General Webpage Browsing don't usually use a large amount of data

To download a file, you first need to find a site to download from.
Most webpages will have instructions, but generally, it all comes down to clicking on a link, or a button, and the server will begin sending the file to you.

You then need to SAVE the file on your hard drive (or floppy)
