FILTERING

What is filtering?
Internet filtering is a technological tool, usually software based, that has been developed to make the Internet safer for children by sorting and blocking access to undesirable content on the Internet

Who should use it?
Parents may wish to use filtering software to ensure their children and family do not access inappropriate web content such as pornography and other adult sites.

What software is available?
There are a variety of client-side filtering software packages available in the market today. The Internet Industry Association Codes of Practice document provides a list of many of these approved filtering packages. Below are two of these products and links to their sites where you can download trial versions, we have also provided an overview for each of these products conducted by the ABA (Australian Broadcasting Authority).
