To start the configuration of the Internet for Mac OS 8.0, Double click on the icon marked ‘Browse the Internet’.

To continue through the configuration, click on the button marked ‘Assist Me’

You will be shown an introduction screen next, to continue click on the button marked ‘Update’.

Select ‘Add Internet configuration’, then to continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

In the field labeled ‘What would you like to name this configuration’ type ‘LiSP’. Next to ‘How will you be connecting to the Internet’ select ‘Modem’, then to continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

Select your modem from the list in this next window, if your modem is not listed, select: ‘Hayes Optima/Accura 28.8K’ as this modem is a generic type of modem.

Select ‘Modem Port’ from the list option box marked ‘What port is the modem connected to?’ and select ‘Tone’ from the radio boxes below.

To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

Make sure the phone number is correct, if you are unsure go to

LiSP dial up numbers for a complete listing.

Ensure this is a local call charge.

Also enter your username and password into fields respectively.

To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

In the next screen select ‘No’ as LiSP automatically assigns an IP Address when a user logs in.

To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

The next screen will prompt you for a list of DNS

NB: You will need to check your LiSP Internet Settings for your location. 

Servers enter the following numbers:

Primary DNS: 203.21.133.124

Secondary DNS: 203.21.133.1

In the domain name field, type ‘lisp.com.au’

To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

On this screen you will be asked for your email address, type in ‘username@lisp.com.au’ and it will also request your password, type this in the field marked password.

To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

NB: You will need to check your LiSP Internet Settings for your location.

In the field that asks for your POP account, type in‘username@lisp.com.au’ and in the field it asks for the SMTP host, enter ‘mail.lisp.com.au’.

To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

In the field that asks for your SMTP host, type in the mail server, click here if you do not know it for your location.

In the field that asks for your NEWS server, type in the news server, click here if you do not know it for your location.

To continue click on the arrow pointing right located at the bottom right hand of the screen.

To complete the configuration of Macintosh OS 8.0 for the Internet click on the button labeled ‘Go Ahead’.
