To start the configuration of Outlook Express, Double click on the Outlook Express icon located on the desktop

Outlook Express may prompt you to connect to the Internet, click on Cancel. You do not need to be connected to the Internet to configure your Outlook Express settings. From the drop down menu marked ‘Tools’ select ‘Accounts’

The account management section of Outlook Express will be opened.
To setup an email account with Outlook Express, click on the Tab marked ‘Mail’ and click on the button marked ‘Add’, then select ‘Mail’.

Enter your name the way you would like other Internet users to see when you send e-mail messages. Click Next.

Enter your E-mail address.

Your e-mail address is your User name (eg: johnsmith) followed by LiSP’ domain name (lisp.com.au). Separated by an '@' symbol: johnsmith@lisp.com.au

Click Next.

NB: Click here if you do not know your mail settings for your location.

LiSP’s incoming mail server is a POP3 server. Select POP3 from the option list.

The name of the Incoming mail server at LiSP is: ‘mail.lisp.com.au’ and the Outgoing mail server at LiSP is: ‘mail.lisp.com.au’

Enter this in lower case letters, then click Next

The Log on details are the same as the details you use when you dial into LiSP.

Your username should be entered in
lower-case letters in the ‘POP Account’ name field and your password entered in the ‘Password’ field, Click Next.

Enter a name that Outlook Express can save your mail account settings under.

You may leave it as ‘mail.lisp.com.au’ as this name will not be seen by anyone you send e-mail to. Click Next.

Select ‘Connect using my phone line’ for the connection type. Click Next.

You should already have a Dial-Up Networking connection called ‘LiSP’ on your system.

Click in the radio button next to ‘Use an existing Dial-Up connection’ and select the Dial-Up Networking connection.

Click Next.

Your mail account has been successfully configured.

To begin sending and receiving e-mail using Outlook Express with your new settings click Finish.

You will be returned to the Account Management section of Outlook Express where you can click Close to return to Outlook Express.
