command. |
- Close all open aplications.

- Click the Start button,
and choose Run.
- In the Open text
box, type sfc.

- Click the OK button.
- Select Extract one file
from installation disk.
- In the text box, type the
name of the file to be extracted.
For example: winsock.dll, wsock32.dll or rasapi32.dll

- Click the Start button.
- In the Restore from
text box, type the location of the Windows 98 installation files.
This location may already appear in the dropdown list, and there is
also a Browse button available, if needed.
- The Save file in
text box should already contain the correct path (c:/windows for winsock.dll,
c:\windows\system for wsock32.dll or rasapi32.dll). If not, type the
correct path.

- Click the OK button.

- A default Backup folder
of C:\WINDOWS\Helpdesk\SFC should already be specified. Click the
OK button.

already exist, you will be prompted to create it. Click the Yes
button.

- The extraction is complete.
Click the OK button.
