Please ensure your modem is already installed before following the procedure below.

CLICK HERE to start the program ALREADY contained on your Hard Disk Drive. It's part of your operating system from Microsoft.

Alternately, to start the Internet Connection Wizard you can go to START, All Programs, Accessories, Communications & click on the New Connection Wizard and connect to the Internet manually, using a dial up modem. Some of the screens will be similar to those below and you can use them as a guide.

Please note: when using the 'CLICK HERE' link above, a screen will appear and you need to follow the instructions below.
THIS IS NOT A DOWNLOAD and will simply be running the file already installed as part of your Windows operating system.

Click the 'Open' button

Now choose the third option: 'Manually configure my telephone or network Internet connection'

To continue, click the 'Next' button

Leave the default selection as 'I connect through a phone line and modem'

Now click the 'Next' button.

In the field 'What country region are you in now?' choose 'Australia' from the drop down box by clicking on the small arrow to the right of the field.

Input the telephone area code for the state you're dialling from. Eg: If you live anywhere in NSW the area code for the entire state is now 02.

Ensure 'Tone dialling' is selected for 'The phone system at this location uses;' field.

Press the 'OK' button

Now choose the location you're dialling from by clicking once on the selection 'My Location'

Press the 'OK' button

Make sure the phone number is correct, if you are unsure go to LiSP dial up numbers for a complete listing.

In the field labelled Telephone number: Type the number supplied to you by LiSP as your dial in for Internet access.

IMPORTANT: Please ensure this is a local call charge for you by checking with your telephone service provider. Your phone account is separate from your Internet and solely your responsibility.

Now remove the tick from the box labelled 'Use area code and dialling rules' by clicking once on it. Press the 'Next' button

Make sure the phone number is correct, if you are unsure go to LiSP dial up numbers for a complete listing.

In the field labelled 'User name:' type the Login ID given to you by LiSP.

In the field labelled 'Password' type the password as supplied to you by LiSP.

TIP: The password must contain at least one number and can only be between 6 & 8 letters long.

Neither the username or password usually have any capital letters and definitely NO spaces.

Now type the name for your connection 'LiSP' and click ‘Next’ to continue.

Congratulations! You've set up your computer for access to LiSP Internet and are now ready to connect. Simply click on the Finish button to begin surfing the net.

If you encounter any problems with your connection we'd like to hear from you. Just a couple of things we need first:
  1. Any error messages you receive should be quoted exactly as they appear on your screen.
  2. Please be in front of your computer, with it turned on, so we can give you instructions on how to resolve the problem. You do NOT need to be connected to the Internet for technical support.
  3. Alternately you can email us or phone. Check the support phone number and email for your LiSP Location.
