Description: PAD (Portable Application Description) files are the brain child of the Association of Shareware Professionals ("ASP"). They allow software developers to submit program information to participating sites without the need of filling in lengthy forms.
The finished PAD file is in a predetermined XML format which can be easily read by those software sites. They can then automatically poll your PAD to keep their archives always up to date.
PadEditor by BB is a tiny application which produces fully functional ver 2.0 PAD files. Unlike most other PAD creation applications, it is written in Visual Basic 6 with no bloated redundant code, to keep its size small. Document links are extracted and placed at the top of the screen, which makes possible to follow and hyperlink in the page without typing it in the address bar. Document source (as well as header and basic connection type info) is shown in the bottom of the screen. This application is especially useful for debugging wireless (WAP/3G/iMode, etc.) applications, when simulators do not provide source viewing ability and/or fail to show incorrectly formatted content at all.
