ADSL Most people have a very narrow view on what ADSL really is. Within the ADSL range of products available through the various Internet Service Providers, there are many plans, varying speeds and data elements. LiSP has taken a long, hard look at the variety of available options, and also listened to the feedback from ADSL users from other providers, and have decided on a higher quality of product which will give better value for money. Simply put, the speed that they paid for isn't available during periods of high usage. I could imagine nothing more frustrating than to be paying for a speed that I could only get on rare occasions. To reduce prices, they may supply their own data, and this is rate limited, which means, regardless of what the customers request, they can only share the total rate supplied. I have heard reports of ADSL products which degrade to almost modem speeds during busy periods.
