rooms are in the Ewen Smith Memorial Hall situated on
the corner of Tank & Donald/Guy Sts in Lithgow.

We

Members of
L&DFHS will be attending the funeral of Col Glynn, a former
committee member of the Society who died on Saturday 4th February.
The
L&DFHS Resource Centre will not be open on the first Saturday in
April (7th) but will be open on 14th April from 10am to 4pm for
research. There will be a display for the National Trust Heritage
Festival at the Resource Centre on that day. The festival theme is
"Amazing Stories - Innovation and Invention" and
L&DFHS will be highlighting some of those stories which involve
local people and projects. The display will then be exhibited at
Lithgow Learning Centre in Main St Lithgow from Thursday 19th April
until 29th April 2012.

Guidelines for use of our centre:
Limits
are enforced on personal articles and items that may be taken into the
Lithgow & District Family Society Inc Resource Centre.
Lockers
are provided for the secure storage of personal articles, including
handbags and other bags, larger folders, scanners.
The
following items may be taken into the Resource Centre:
- Lead
pencils
- Pad
of paper, loose paper, A4 and other bound notebooks
- Spectacles
and spectacle case
- Laptop
computer without the bag. Must operate on battery power. No mains
power connection provided due to OH&S requirements.
- Digital
camera. Use is allowed subject to Copyright or Deed of Gift not
being breached.
Digital scanning of records is not allowed.
War Heroes Project

The LDFHS has a project underway to record the histories of men and
women who enlisted and served in WWI initially and will eventually
include those who served in WWII. For further
